SmartGauge with EcoGuide
SmartGauge with EcoGuide offers a multitude of customizable LCD displays that help you understand how changing your driving habits can have a direct effect on maximizing vehicle efficiency. Content such as the Energy History, Energy Coach and Efficiency Leaves work together to help you monitor and improve your driving performance over time.
Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start
Simply have the available Intelligent Access key in your pocket or purse, then touch the door handle. Once inside, press the brake pedal and then the start button. Shift into gear and go.
Available Active Park Assist
While you're driving slowly near parallel parking spots, simply activate available active park assist and it looks for a parking spot. Ultrasonic sensors measure the distance to the curb and between parked cars. Once an appropriate spot is identified, you're signaled to stop and accept the system's assistance. You control the shifting, accelerating and braking.
Available Rain-Sensing Wipers
The available rain-sensing wipers on C-MAX Hybrid turn on when rain or snow is detected on the windshield. You can select the sensitivity level.
Standard Rear View Camera
Put the gear selector in Reverse and the rear view camera automatically transmits the image of what's behind you to your screen when you're slowly backing up. The rear view camera is standard on all models.
MyKey
The MyKey feature lets you program a restricted driving mode to help good driving habits.
- The restricted driving mode is activated by using a MyKey to operate the vehicle
- You can make all but one of the keys a MyKey via simple setup menus
- The Admin key (non-MyKey) can be used to create a MyKey, program optional MyKey settings and disable the MyKey feature
- When the MyKey feature is enabled, the user can utilize System Check in the message center to see how many MyKeys and Admin keys are programmed to the vehicle, and how many total miles have been driven with the MyKey active
The few minutes it takes to program a MyKey through the vehicle's message center will give you peace of mind when lending your vehicle to your child or a friend, or when a valet is parking it.

Available Ambient Lighting
Available ambient lighting illuminates the interior with color in both the front and rear footwells. It also lights the cupholders, which makes them easier to locate when you're driving at night. The driver or front-seat passenger can select from one of seven colors: red, blue, purple, orange, aqua, white or yellow-green. The choice is yours.

Designed for fun-to-drive performance, C-MAX touts best-in-class horsepower. It also features power-split hybrid architecture, which allows the lithium-ion battery and gasoline-powered engine to work together or separately using the motor and generator. Even slowing down in C-MAX Hybrid is efficient, thanks to regenerative braking, which can recover more than 90 percent of this energy and send it back to the battery to be stored for later use.
Best-in-Class Horsepower
C-MAX Hybrid delivers best-in-class 188 combined horsepower, and in all-electric mode, it is capable of a top speed of up to 85 mph. The combined energy of a dynamic electric motor powered by a lithium-ion battery and the 2.0L Atkinson-cycle I-4 gas engine propels C-MAX Hybrids. And power-split hybrid architecture allows the battery and gasoline powered engine to work together using the motor and generator.

The lithium-ion battery and the 2.0L I-4 Atkinson-cycle gasoline-powered engine work together or separately by using the motor and generator to help maximize the vehicle's efficiency.
EcoSelect Button
EcoSelect allows the vehicle to operate more efficiently. Drivers may notice less aggressive heating and cooling, softer acceleration, changes in engine behavior and EcoCruise activation. To activate the feature, press the EcoSelect button on the center console. A graphic will appear in the information display when EcoSelect is activated.
Regenerative Braking and Brake Coach
Regenerative braking recovers energy that is usually lost during braking or coasting and stores that energy in your battery for later use. The Brake Coach appears after the vehicle has come to a stop. It coaches you to brake in a manner which maximizes the amount of energy returned through the Regenerative Braking System. The percent displayed is an indication of the regenerative braking efficiency with 100 percent representing the maximum amount of energy recovery.
Electronically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (eCVT)
The C-MAX Hybrid powertrain uses an eCVT or electronically controlled continuously variable transmission, combining power from the engine and electric motor to deliver power to the wheels when you accelerate. Engineered, designed and produced in-house by Ford, the eCVT eliminates the noticeable upshifts and downshifts of conventional transmissions, providing a seamless driving experience.
Active Grille Shutters
Active Grille Shutters can help improve efficiency by altering the shutters behind the grille. Located between the grille opening and the radiator, the shutters are electronically controlled by the engine control module. They open or close to help maintain the ideal engine operating temperature. When less engine cooling is needed, the shutters close to help improve aerodynamics.
